A little bit about me…

I’m Jane, a Nottingham‑based freelance event manager and I’ve been planning and delivering conferences and events across the UK and internationally for over two decades.

I landed my first events job in London straight out of university in 2002, and after three years of London life I moved to Nottingham and have been here ever since. Home of Robin Hood, Boots and that credit checking company - which is where I spent the next 17 years, working as an in‑house corporate events manager, before setting up on my own.

My experience in-house taught me how complex organisations really work, how teams, leaders and stakeholders interact, and what people need to feel informed and included. I also know how culture and communications programmes and events bring greater clarity and engagement to diverse audiences, building stronger and better-connected organisations.

Freelancing, whether as the sole event lead, providing additional support to in‑house teams, or partnering with agencies to add to their delivery capacity, my style is thoughtful and collaborative: I’m a confident, all-round event professional. I listen, guide, become part the bigger picture, and turn ideas into practical plans.

More about me: I’m a bit of a runner, perform with a local theatre company and enjoy road trips in my 1972 VW campervan, Wordy.

I love the atmosphere and energy that is created when we bring people together, the ideas that are sparked and the relationships that are nurtured and developed.

This is what inspired the name of my business, Constellate, which means, ‘to bring together; to form a cluster’.

Just like stars that form a constellation, each is beautiful on their own, but it’s in their alignment that a deeper and greater story appears — that they create an experience with real meaning and impact.
